Please allow me to introduce myself and the reason behind Dede's Web Design
Hi, I'm Dede.....wife, mom of 2 adult children, and the proud grandmother of 4 (Cole, Adam, Brodie, and Josina), professional executive assistant, recently graduated MT.... and website designer.
I've been an executive assistant for some 35+ years -- mostly working in Toronto's financial district, and for the Provinces of BC and Saskatchewan. I ventured into self-employment half a dozen years ago, taking my secretarial/administration experience onto a free-lance level. Through that -- and also by becoming the Marketing Director for the Vernon Snowmobile Association -- I sort of "fell" into designing websites...and discovered that I was good at it and .... (bonus!) .... even enjoyed it.
I'm currently expanding my horizons in yet another direction...I've just completed my studies to become a medical transcriptionist and am almost finished my practicum (Dec 2010). Which just goes to show that you can "teach an old dog new tricks!"
Which leads us to the reason for the birth of Dede's Web Design....revenue from this venture is earmarked to help my daughter Tammy and son-in-law Sid with the travel expenses they will incur in order to complete the adoption of their next child from Ethiopia.
My 5th grandchild is expected, hopefully later this year, through an international adoption from Ethiopia, that Tammy and Sid began several years ago through "Imagine Adoption". Sadly, Imagine Adoption went bankrupt last year, leaving some 400 adoptive families in limbo. The trustees have restructured, and we are very hopeful that the adoptions will proceed now as planned.
Unfortunately, the Ethiopian government has now implemented a new rule for international adoptive parents...they must now make TWO trips to Africa (instead of the previous ONE) to complete the adoption process. More expenses that these hopeful parents-to-be can ill afford, having already invested several thousand dollars for various fees.
So now family and friends are rallying together to come up with fund-raising ideas in order to help Tammy and Sid out.
I hope you'll choose Dede's Web Design to create your website....I promise to work together with you to create a site that will fulfill all your expectations. And, even after I eventually hand the site maintenance over to you, I won't abandon you. I'll always be just an email or phone call away to lend you a hand.

Sidney and I have been blessed with a gift. The gift of completing our family through adoption. We are currently 2 ½ years into the process of adopting a baby from Ethiopia and are excited that we will be matched any month now. To see our child’s face in a photograph is something we dream about and to be able to hold him or her in our arms is beyond imagination. To witness our daughter meeting her sibling for the first time will be an unforgettable experience. We hope to bring our baby home within the next year and we thank you for your prayers and support throughout our journey.
